Plastic and synthetic vibratory media is used on more delicate metal alloys for deburring or pre-plate finishing. Unlike heavier media, such as ceramic, plastic and synthetic media causes far less impingement on softer metals.
Plastic vibratory media is also used to blend machine lines on aluminum and other soft alloys. The jewelry industry will often use plastic or synthetic vibratory media for fine finishing of precious metals before buffing.
