Meet Frank Mas, US & International Sales Representative for SurfacePrep

Frank Mas is an integral part of the history of SurfacePrep. About 41 years ago, he was part of the group that became Grand Northern Products and was the first salesperson to represent them. During the next several years, Frank watched the company grow, establish loyal customer relationships, and develop strong work ethic. Frank said that the biggest growth for GNP, and what continues to grow what is now SurfacePrep, is Mike Currie.

“I have enjoyed over the years the freedom to be creative and create new markets for the company both domestically and internationally,” Frank said.

Frank said that he is a problem solver. If a customer has a challenge, he wants to provide solutions. He gives credit to achieving that on a face-to-face level by being personal and getting to know the customers. Knowing the customers and understanding their company helps him identify their true needs. “One of the interesting things is that over my career, I have now had the opportunity to work with second-generation employees from these companies. Meaning that I am working with the children of past customers,” Frank said. He said that that generational layer to his job has forced him to stay up-to-date not only with the knowledge of the industry, but with technology and communication changes.

“Life comes full circle, today’s needs are the same as they have always been, it’s just how you approach it that changes,” Frank said.

Frank will be the first to admit that he is a workaholic. The life of a salesmen when he was younger was a full week on the road with little time left for hobbies. Now he has 6 children and 3 grandkids with another on the way. When he is not spending time with his family, he enjoys downhill skiing, sailing, and riding his Harley Davidson.
