Meet Chris Damiano, a Sales Manager for SurfacePrep’s SPS Division

Chris started working in this industry in the warehouse at USF Surface Prep in 2000.

Like many who work at SurfacePrep, Chris appreciates the opportunity to see and interact with so many different industries .

“When I see products that my customers manufacturer out in the world, it gives me a sense of accomplishment knowing that I played a part in the development of that product,” Chris said. Sharing knowledge and experience with his customers who are trying to solve their finishing problems is one of Chris’s favorite aspects of his job. There are few applications and processes that Chris and his coworkers haven’t seen. “We talk everyday and share our experiences out in the field.”

Chris appreciates working with some of the best minds in the surface finishing industry, from coworkers to vendors. “We’ve known each other for many years, and I consider them all to be good friends.”

When asked if he had a favorite industry or application, Chris said that it would be aerospace manufacturing. He said that aerospace is so important to California and the US economy, and it is great to have an impact on such an essential industry. “Plus, it’s just plain cool to work with aerospace engineers and help develop their finishing processes.”

Chris always makes sure to support his customers and show his commitment to them through his work ethic, and John Roth, General Manager of the SPS Division, will confirm that, “Chris has been a top performer for most of his career, so it was my honor to promote him to sales manager this year. Chris will lead his sales team to new heights in 2021 and into the future, I have no doubt.”

Outside of the office and customer’s manufacturing plants, Chris enjoys hanging out with his family. He is also an avid mountain biker, and is either biking through the hills of Malibu Canyon or the Santa Monica Mountains every weekend.
