SurfacePrep People Rock!
Meet Dan Dooley “SurfacePrep’s Level 3 Certified Peening Expert”
Dan started working for the Grand Northern Division in January of 1992. Even though the company has gone through a lot of changes in those 28 years, Dan says the fundamentals that set SurfacePrep apart have remained the same: He learns something new every day, we always work in the best interest of our customers, we build loyalty with our customers and vendors, and we will strive to work harder and smarter than the competition.
As he grew in more knowledge of the industry, Dan began to gravitate towards shot peening when he saw the need for technically savvy salespeople who could support customers with that process. He has attended technical training and workshops for the three levels of shot peening. Last fall, he was one of the less than 10 people to pass level 3 FAA and NADCAP recognized shot peening certification. Dan has had a lot of success with the peening of springs, which he has help establish a number of new and innovative processes that assisted spring manufacturers set themselves above the competition. Dan has sold simple hand peening systems for small gears all the way to large robotic systems that peen landing gear.
Dan loves to be involved in defining or improving every step of his customers’ processes.
“It could be parts washing one day, mass finishing the next. We have the great opportunity to listen to the customer and determine their needs and choose the best path to solve their problems. Meeting the challenge of getting from point A to point B is gratifying,” Dan says.
When Dan is not working, he runs a golf league, rides his Harley Davidson, volunteers as an entertainment director in two hometown festivals, and enjoys spending time with his wife and three adult kids.
